The Chicago Bears are retaining one of their offensive lineman, reportedly re-signing left tackle Braxton Jones.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Jones would sign with the Bears on a one-year contract that could be worth up to $10 million.
Jones was drafted by the Bears in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He has appeared in 46 games over four NFL seasons.
He was significantly limited by injuries a season ago, appearing in just six games and starting four for the Bears, but he’ll be aiming to bounce back in the 2026 season.
Jones’ role with the Bears will likely include him competing to start, as the team will be without Ozzy Trapilo, who tore a patellar ligament in his knee during the team’s wild card win over the Green Bay Packers.
The Bears are also working to replace center Drew Dalman, who retired abruptly at the age of 27. Garrett Bradbury was acquired from the New England Patriots via trade, but the Bears could still be looking for additional line help on the market.
