More than 700 flights headed in and out of Denver International Airport were delayed amid a snowstorm on Friday. A ground stop was in place to allow for deicing at the airport.
As of 11:15 a.m. Friday, 698 flights had been delayed and 11 had been canceled, according to flight tracking software FlightAware. A ground delay for deicing is in effect until 7:59 p.m. was delaying departing flights by an average of 61 minutes, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
Trace amounts of snow of snow accumulated at DIA by 9:53 a.m. Friday, according to observation records from the National Weather Service.

Southwest delayed the most flights at DIA on Friday at 362, followed by 157 United flights, 102 SkyWest flights, 32 Frontier flights, 12 American Airlines flights and 15 Delta flights, according to FlightAware. Eight other airlines delayed between one and four flights.
SkyWest canceled four flights, while Southwest, Frontier and American Airlines canceled two each and United canceled one.
