Jan Brady might be pleased to note that it’s not Marcia that’s receiving an honor by the Los Angeles City Council, but the San Fernando Valley home that served as the fictional blended family’s abode during the long-running ‘70s series.
The L.A. City Council voted on March 4 to designate the Brady Bunch house as a historic monument, adding the Mid-century home in Studio City to L.A.’s official city history, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The official designation comes after the Los Angeles Cultural Heritage Commission voted unanimously on Jan. 15 to recommend the home as a landmark. The Planning and Land Use Commission seconded the designation in February, paving the way for the L.A. City Council to approve the measure.
The home, located at 11222 Dilling St. in Studio City, served as the exterior for the Brady family home during the series run from 1969 through 1974. Years later it made an encore of sorts when it became the centerpiece for a reality TV show.

Cable channel HGTV emerged as the new owner and announced plans to recreate the show’s famed interior of the home inside the Studio City property with a $1.9 million remodel that was documented in the four-part miniseries A Very Brady Renovation.
In 2023, HGTV sold the home at a loss for $3.2 million to home historian Tina Trahan and her husband, former HBO chief executive Chris Elbrecht.
