OAKLAND — A 61-year-old man who had just left an East Oakland store was shot Wednesday night, authorities said.

The shooting, which caused an activation of a gunshot detection system, happened about 10:47 p.m. Wednesday in the 7000 block of International Boulevard.
The man told police he had just left a store in the area and was walking to his vehicle when he heard gunfire and realized he had been shot. He was able to drive himself to a hospital.
According to initial reports, the shots were apparently fired during a dispute between some other people in the area. More than 10 shots were fired and police believe at this time the 61-year-old man was not an intended target.
No other injuries were reported.
What the dispute involving the other people was about is not known. No arrests have been made.
