They will also get in another pre-tour warm up performance at Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA, on Sunday, April 25.
Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, Paul Doucette, and Kyle Cook formed Matchbox Twenty in Orlando, Florida, in 1995. They’d go on to release their wildly-successful debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You, the following year. The diamond-certified, 12x-platinum record features hit singles “3AM,” “Push,” “Real World,” “Back 2 Good,” and “Long Day.”
In the years since their 1996 debut record took the world by a storm, Matchbox Twenty would go on garner multiple Grammy Award nominations and sell more than 40 million records worldwide. They would release several other massive hit singles, including “Unwell,” “She’s So Mean,” and “How Far We’ve Come.”
On Oct. 1, the band shared an Instagram post that remarked on their 30-year journey in music—and hinted at what’s to come. “One day you’re just a few friends from Orlando piling into a van to play for whoever shows up. The next, you’re looking back on three decades of songs, stages, and memories you never could have imagined,” the sentimental post began.

Noting how “this isn’t a finish line,” the group acknowledged that “it feels a lot more like a beginning.”
“There’s so much more on the way and we can’t wait to share it with you,” they teased. “To start the celebration, we dug through the Matchbox archives and resurfaced some live performances. Check them out at matchboxtwenty.com.”
