Who hopped on a plane when [Carson Daly’s] parents [died]? Savannah. Who was sitting by [Sheinelle’s late husband] Uche [Ojeh]’s side? How about when your brother passed, [Craig]? She was there.'”
While covering the Olympics opening ceremony, sports commentator Terry Gannon joined Carillo and began the live broadcast by offering well wishes to Savannah.
“She sure is, she’s covered so many Olympics, hasn’t she?” Carillo added. “And she loves them. Right now, of course Savannah and her family are in unspeakable, unfathomable pain. We know in the U.S. that her extended family is legion. Savannah, my friend, it’s the same way here.”
