Hoda Kotb will no longer be traveling to Milan to cover the Winter Olympics amid the ongoing search for Savannah Guthrie's missing mom Nancy.
According to People, the former TODAY Show anchor will remain in the U.S. with Craig Melvin, who also canceled his plans to go to the Olympics this week.
The outlet reports that Saturday Today co-anchor Peter Alexander will take Kotb's place, while NBC Sports' Ahmed Fareed is replacing Melvin and NBC sportscaster Mary Carillo is covering for Savannah.

On Friday, Feb. 6, Kotb made her first return to TODAY following her retirement in January 2025 and addressed Nancy's disappearance.
“This whole thing is breaking my heart and I’m happy to be sitting here with you,” Kotb said to Melvin, Carson Daly, and Sheinelle Jones. “I picture Savannah sitting there. I just want to say good morning and everybody’s hoping and praying for Nancy’s safe return.”
While chatting with her colleagues, Kotb reflected on the times Savannah was there for them as they faced personal struggles.
“We’re all so close with her, we all want to help her,” she said. “I’m looking at us and I was thinking, ‘Who was first in the hospital when [my daughter] Hope was sick? Savannah. Who hopped on a plane when [Carson Daly’s] parents [died]? Savannah. Who was sitting by [Sheinelle’s late husband] Uche [Ojeh]’s side? How about when your brother passed, [Craig]? She was there.'”

While covering the Olympics opening ceremony, sports commentator Terry Gannon joined Carillo and began the live broadcast by offering well wishes to Savannah.
“That is exactly what it takes to bring you the Olympics, a team and we are certainly without a very important, beloved member of our team tonight: Our friend and colleague Savannah Guthrie,”Gannon said while holding back tears. “She is dearly missed by everybody here.”
“She sure is, she’s covered so many Olympics, hasn’t she?” Carillo added. “And she loves them. Right now, of course Savannah and her family are in unspeakable, unfathomable pain. We know in the U.S. that her extended family is legion. Savannah, my friend, it’s the same way here.”
