Washington State defeated rival Idaho twice this weekend, first winning at home on Friday with a final score of 210-52. On Saturday, Washington State traveled to Idaho and earned the 178-84 win.

Friday’s Highlights

Washington State dominated at home, setting three pool records in the process, and won all but one event. Darcy Revitt broke her own pool record in the 50 free, winning the event in a 22.30. That broke her old pool record of a 22.49 that she swam earlier this season at the start of November. Revitt also swam to a win in the 100 free, touching in a 48.94, just 0.19 off her pool record.

Revitt also helped Washington State to two relay wins. The team of Anna Rauchholz, Revitt, Addy Lewis, and Barbora Mileisyte won the 200 medley relay in a 1:38.89. Reivtt and Mileisyte combined for the win alongside Lauren Wille and Issabelle Parrish in the 400 free relay as the group earned the win in a 3:20.30.

Rauchholz broke the WSU pool record in the 100 backstroke that previously belonged to Claire Curzan. Rauchholz touched in a 53.16, getting under Curzan’s old record of a 53.46 set in 2022 when Curzan was at Stanford.

The third and final pool record on the night was set by Wille who won the 500 free in a 4:50.07. That broke the old pool record of a 4:50.14 set by Bonnie Brandon of Arizona back in 2014. Wille also won the 200 freestyle, touching in a 1:48.43.

The Idaho women were led by Ginger Kiefer who swam to a win in the 100 IM, touching in a 57.23. That was just 0.13 seconds off her lifetime best. Kiefer also was 3rd in the 400 IM in a 4:23.69, as Washington State’s Tatum Janning earned the win in a 4:18.91.

Saturday’s Highlights

Washington State continued their momentum into Saturday, earning another win, this time on the road. Leading the way was Revitt who once again won two individual races and helped the team to two relay wins as well. She was just off her time from Friday in the 100 free, touching in a 49.14 for the win. She also won the 100 breast in a 1:01.10.

The team of Anna Rauchholz, Ashlyn Hernandez, Issabelle Parrish, and Revitt won the 400 medley relay in a 3:28.21, touching ahead of WSU’s ‘B’ team that earned the 1-2 sweep. Revitt combined with Barbora Mileisyte, Addy Lewis, and Parrish for the win in the 200 free relay as the team won in a 1:31.33. Revitt led off in a 22.58.

Rauchholz swept the backstroke events on the day, winning the 100 back in a 53.63 and the 200 back in a 1:58.72. The 200 back was a tight race between Rauchholz and Idaho’s Ginger Kiefer as Kiefer led the race for the first half before Rauchholz had a strong back half to make Kiefer touch 2nd in a 1:58.86.

Kiefer did go on to win a race for Idaho, touching 1st in the 200 IM in a 2:02.09. Kiefer won the event by over three seconds. Her season best sits at a 2:00.87 from midseason.

The Idaho women also earned another win as Marie Mason touched 1st in the 1000 free. Mason swam to a 10:08.85 to win by two and a half seconds. That marked a school record for Mason, as her previous record was a 10:09.11 that she swam in October during Idaho’s dual meet against Northern Arizona.
