ROCHESTER, N.Y. — RG&E and Monroe County are partnering up to accept and process applications for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) at three outreach events in Rochester, starting Friday.

At every on-site event, a county staff member will help support and process HEAP applications. An RG&E customer advocate will also be available to help customers and answer any questions.

Applications first opened on Dec. 1 after a month-long delay due to the federal shutdown.

Applications will be accepted on Mondays and Fridays at RG&E’s West Avenue location and the Lewis Street YMCA Neighborhood Center at the following dates and times:

400 West Ave., on Friday, Jan. 30, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. 53 Lewis St. (YMCA), on Monday, Feb. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 53 Lewis St. (YMCA), on Friday, Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“As dangerously cold temperatures grip our region, Monroe County is proud to partner with RG&E to connect residents with the HEAP assistance they need to stay warm and safe this winter,” said County Executive Adam Bello. 

Applications will be accepted through February.
