Carson Bolemon is First Pitcher Selected

Photo: Alex Hicks Jr. – USA Today Sports)High school left-hander Carson Bolemon is one of the top pitchers in the 2026 MLB Draft, and he is committed to Wake Forest, but it doesn’t seem like he will play there. He has dominated the ranks and is likely a top-10 pick this summer. Bolemon sits 91-94 but can reach up to 96. He also sports a pair of plus breaking balls. At 6’4″, he is extremely projectable and has shown plenty of dominance on the showcase circuit. Bolemon threw 11 scoreless frames for the 18U United States National Team in the World Cup in Japan last September.
Shortstops Dominate the Top 5

Cholowsky smashed 23 homers last year for UCLA and is one of the best all-around college shortstops since Troy Tulowitzki. Emerson is a rangy-prep shortstop with a smooth lefty stroke. His bat speed and strength have huge upside. Then there’s Alabama’s Justin Lebron. He grades plus in tools like power, speed, arm strength, and fielding. Lebron has All-Star potential written all over him. It will be fun to see how these guys fall in the draft this summer.
LSU’s Derek Curiel Goes No. 4

Photo: Steven Branscombe-Imagn Images)Outfielder Derek Curiel withdrew from the 2024 MLB Draft to attend LSU and was a beast in 2025 as he helped the Tigers win the College World Series. Curiel hit .345 on the year and an impressive .390 in the NCAA Tournament. He gets a lot of comparisons to Christian Yelich as a lean left-handed hitter with a fluid stroke. Scouts argue about his power projections, but he can flat-out hit, and any team in the top 10 would love to have him.
