The Power universe may be expansive but now it's time to bid farewell to one series as Power Book IV: Force has drawn to a close. Season 3 was no less dramatic and gripping as its previous two seasons, bowing out on an expectantly positive note as Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) ponders about his future with Tariq St Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr).
Many were left wondering just whether Tommy would make it out of Power Book IV: Force alive but with reports that Power: Legacy is set to see him lead the cast alongside Rainey Jr, that thankfully wasn't the case and Tommy lived to fight another day. But seeing as Force earned its own captivated audience, just why is the series coming to an end?

Why won't there be a Power Book IV: Force season 4?
In March 2024, Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch revealed plans to "contain content costs by developing more new shows versus sustaining series longer as they become more expensive", as per Deadline. So, that means that rather than building up their pre-existing shows with more seasons, they're looking to develop fresh, new spin-offs instead.
Showrunner Sascha Penn said in a statement about Origins: “I’m excited to continue to explore the origin stories of the Power Universe’s founding fathers.
“Ghost and Tommy’s backstories have fuelled years of constant fascination and speculation among fans, and I’m thrilled to be able to answer some long-held questions and share new layers of the story that viewers won’t see coming.”

The finale saw Tariq ask Tommy if he’s ready to “start some new s**t” which led to Tommy replying: “Hell yeah, I’m ready.” So, that certainly sets us up for more action for the pair!
As of now, no official announcements have been made about Power: Legacy but Deadline reported last year that a writer's room for the series was opened for the series, which will follow a present-day timeline.
