Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Washington High School 3A state championship finalist Xander Dumas has announced his commitment to swim for Quincy University beginning in 2026.
Dumas is a senior at Dr. Dolores Silas High School and trains with the Morgan Family Sea Dragons in Tacoma, specializing in middle-distance freestyle events.
“I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Quincy University! I am incredibly grateful for my friends, family, and all of my coaches who have supported me every step of the way. Thank you to the Quincy Men’s Swim program for giving me the opportunity to be part of something truly special. Go Hawks!”
Dumas posted his lifetime bests in the 200 free (1:47.61) and 500 free (4:54.46) last February at the 2025 WIAA Boys 3A State Championship (SCY), achieving both times during prelims. He went on to finish 15th in the 200 free (1:48.48) and 16th in the 500 free (4:58.67).
Dumas has also shown strength in backstroke, particularly in the 200 back. He recorded his fastest time of 2:05.86 at the 2025 Washington State Senior SCY Championships in December. He also competed in the 200 free (1:52.01) and 500 free (5:04.89).
At the 2025 Northwest Region YMCA Championships (SCY) last March, Dumas secured a personal best in the 100 back (56.25) and finished as the runner-up. He also placed 2nd in the 200 free (1:48.33) and the 100 fly (56.93), 3rd in the 200 IM (2:07.05) and the 500 free (4:57.09), 4th in the 100 free (50.41), and 11th in the 50 free (23.53).

Dumas has the opportunity to help strengthen the Hawks’ middle-distance group, especially if he continues to drop time. Last season, junior Wyatt Walsh posted the team’s fastest 500 free time at 4:26.65.
Dumas will join fellow recruits Harry Galloway, Owen Crace, Oscar Edwards, and Wesley Anderson on campus in the fall of 2026. He holds the fastest 500 free time among the group.
