“Open AI, with their offering, claims that their results are not sponsored, and they are not biased. They’re looking out for the best interest of the consumer,” said Jeffrey Allan, Director of the Institute for Responsible Technology at Nazareth University.
Using AI tools like ChatGPT, shoppers can input specific details such as the recipient’s age and interests to receive personalized gift suggestions. Dewberry tested the tool by asking for gift ideas for a 23-year-old woman who loves dogs. ChatGPT provided several options, including a dog journal available at Walmart. The tool is especially useful for those who struggle with gift ideas.
“It will then allow you to directly buy through the platform,” said Allan.
Because Christmas is Thursday, it would be best to choose an option allowing you to pick up the item from the store.
“For me, I usually struggle with, oh, what should I get this person. Now having this new tool to help me pick better gifts, I’m very excited about that, and I’m also excited about saving money while doing so,” said Allan,
