Aubrey O’Day Shares What Worries Her About Diddy’s Eventual Prison Release ...Middle East

News by : (Us magazine) -

Aubrey O’Day spoke out for the first time about appearing in 50 Cent’s Netflix docuseries about Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The Danity Kane singer, 41, opened up about her past with Diddy, 56, during a CBS Mornings interview that aired Tuesday, December 23. O’Day began by praising Sean Combs: The Reckoning director Alexandria Stapleton, calling her “the most incredible woman” she has “ever” worked for.

“She’s the first person … that I worked with in two years — a woman, a brilliant woman — that I always could just come to her with my exact words and they were taken at face value,” O’Day said. “It felt so good to be listened to, heard, and then have the story told with all respect, dignity and the proper amount of research.”

The singer went on to address the allegation that Diddy raped her with another unidentified man in 2005. The claim surfaced in an affidavit filed by a woman who alleged she witnessed the incident, but O’Day said in the docuseries that she has no memory of the alleged assault.

Aubrey O'Day Addresses Claim Diddy Raped Her: 'I Don't Want to Know'

“I needed to make sure that I did my due diligence on understanding that when I was contacted and given the information that this person is all the things that I’ve been told they are, that this person is 100 percent certain that it was me, that they didn’t get another bandmate confused or somebody that just looks like me,” O’Day said on Tuesday when asked whether she believes the alleged assault happened. “And the story that they have told has been consistent for two years in every area that they’ve been in.”

When asked again whether she still doesn’t know if the incident occurred, O’Day replied, “I don’t know.”

Later in the interview, O’Day answered a question about whether she’s worried about her safety after speaking out in the docuseries, which premiered earlier this month. The Making the Band alum explained that she’s more concerned about the possibility that Diddy somehow resurrects his career after his eventual release from prison.

“I mean, there’s a lot of people ahead of me, but no,” she said. “I think what I worry about more is that he comes out and a great fixer takes that money and builds him something new as a character and a personality.”

Aubrey O'Day Reacts to Diddy's Sentencing, Issues 'Warning' to Artists

In a statement to CBS News, Diddy’s spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, denied the affidavit’s claim that the disgraced mogul assaulted O’Day, saying, “Mr. Combs categorically denies the allegations in the Netflix documentary” and “has never sexually assaulted anyone.” Engelmayer added that Diddy plans to address these matters in “the appropriate legal forum … rather than speculation and anonymous affidavits.”

Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He pleaded not guilty and denied the charges against him.

In July, he was convicted on two counts of transportation but acquitted on the other charges. Judge Arun Subramanian later sentenced him to four years in prison. He is currently set to be released in June 2028.

O’Day did not testify in Diddy’s trial, but she previously claimed that her former boss sent her sexually explicit emails before eventually firing her from Danity Kane in 2008.

Aubrey O’Day Says She Won't Testify in Diddy Trial

“There are emails with pictures of his penis,” O’Day said in Sean Combs: The Reckoning before reading from one of the alleged messages. “This is your boss at your work sending you that email.”

She went on to say she “absolutely felt” like he fired her for “not participating sexually.” (Diddy has denied her claims.)

Speaking on Tuesday, O’Day said “no” when asked whether she thought justice had been served in Diddy’s trial but noted she’s hopeful that the conversation around alleged abuse in the music industry will continue.

“My thought now goes beyond him, because this is not the only person in this industry that is doing this. We are having public conversations about young underage girls being trafficked right now,” she said. “I want to see a systematic change. I want to be helping people and speaking for the underdogs and speaking for the voices that aren’t being heard, and I didn’t necessarily get to spend the majority of my life yet being able to live in my purpose.”
