Store hours on Christmas Eve: Costco, Walmart and more
Costco: Stores have shortened hours on Christmas Eve, closing at 5 p.m.
Macy’s: Store hours vary by location but many will remain open until 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. Tuesday and have shortened hours for Christmas Eve.
Nordstrom: Many stores will stay open until 9 p.m. Tuesday, but close early at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve
Old Navy: Most stores will stay open until 11 p.m. Tuesday and close early at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.
Sam’s Club: Stores are expected to stay open until 8 p.m. this week, but will close at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve
Target: Store hours will vary by location, but some will have extended shopping hours in the lead-up to Christmas, staying open as late as midnight Tuesday. Many will close at 8 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Trader Joe’s: Stores are expected to close early, at 5 p.m., on Christmas Eve.
Walmart: Most stores will close early, at 6 p.m., on Christmas Eve.
Mariano’s: Stores are open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Jewel-Osco: Stores are open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Meijer: Stores are open until 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Sunset Foods: Stores are open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Heinen’s: Stores open until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Walgreens: Stores open regular business hours on Christmas Eve, pharmacy hours may vary.
Whole Foods: Most stores open with modified hours
Starbucks: Check your local coffee shops hours to see
Banks, USPS, stock market and more
Banks
Most banks will be open Christmas Eve, though they may have shortened hours.
Chase Bank branches will be open until 1 p.m. local time on Christmas Eve, according to a spokesperson. They are closed on Thursday for Christmas Day, and then will be open for normal business hours on Friday.
The United States Postal Service will be open, with mail delivery, on Dec. 24 and Dec. 26. office is closed on Christmas Day.
Illinois DMVs and other offices
According to the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office, all secretary of state offices and DMVs will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, but open on Dec. 26.
Is the stock market open?
The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will close at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve. It will remain closed all day Thursday for Christmas Day, with regular trading hours Friday, Dec. 26
