WESTLAKE VILLAGE — Oaks Christian and varsity football head coach Charlie Collins mutually parted ways on Wednesday, according to a press release sent out by the school.
Collins had an overall record of 59-34 across eight seasons at Oaks Christian, reaching the playoffs in all seven years in which postseason play was held
“As we conclude the 2025 football season, the Oaks Christian Athletic Administration announces that Head Varsity Football Coach Charlie Collins and the school have mutually agreed to launch the 2026 season under new leadership. We are thankful for Coach Collins’s dedication, commitment, and investment in the program throughout his time at Oaks Christian and we wish him the best with his future pursuits,” the statement said. Additionally, the school said that its search for a new head coach will be open to both local and national candidates.

Collins, who previously was a wide receivers coach in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers and Cincinnati Bengals, had an overall record of 59-34 across eight seasons at Oaks Christian and he reached the CIF Southern Section playoffs in all seven years in which postseason play was held. However, the program finished with just four regular season victories this year, and that 4-6 record was the worst mark in school history.
They ended the season after falling to eventual champion La Habra 20-7 in the Southern Section Division 4 semifinals.
