For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Lillie McPherson from Sydney, Australia has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Florida beginning in fall 2026.

“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Florida. A huge thank you to my family, friends, and all of my coaches who helped and supported me throughout the years. I am grateful to Coach Nesty, Coach Whitney and Coach Kristin for giving me this wonderful opportunity! Go Gators!!!”

McPherson swims for Manly Swim Club and notably swam at Australian Trials at the start of June. There she was 20th in the 100 fly in a 1:02.09 and 26th in the 200 free in a 2:03.45.

Back in 2024, McPherson represented Australia at the 2024 Junior Pan Pac Championships. She finaled in the 50 free finishing 16th (26.39) as well as in the 100 free touching in a 56.69 for 15th. She also helped Australia’s girls 400 free relay to silver splitting a 56.32 on the 3rd leg.

McPherson’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:

50 free: 25.73 (22.45) 100 free: 55.84 (48.86) 200 free: 2:00.45 (1:45.63) 100 fly: 1:00.08 (52.86)

The Florida women finished 2nd at the 2025 SEC Championships and went on to finish 6th at the 2025 NCAA Championships. The team is currently ranked #10 in SwimSwam’s Pre-Invite Power Rankings and are led by breaststroker Anita Bottazzo who currently leads the NCAA this season in the 100 breast with a 56.87.

Based on her best converted times, McPherson is a huge addition to the Gators. Her best converted times in the 50 free and 100 fly would currently sit at #2 on the roster while her best converted times in the 100 and 200 frees would sit at #3. She is just off what it took to make the cutline for 2025 NCAAs as it took a 22.01 in the 50 free, 48.11 in the 100 free, and a 1:44.74 in the 200 free.

McPherson joins a small class for Florida that is set to arrive next fall for the class of 2030. Also committed to join the Gators is Valentina Procaccini of Italy, Kim Bomin of South Korea, and Maddie Moreth from Indiana.
