A Marine died Wednesday afternoon in a vehicle training accident at Camp Pendleton, officials said.
An statement issued by the Corps said the service member assigned to the I Marine Expeditionary Force “died as a result of injuries sustained in a tactical vehicle mishap duringroutine training.”
The incident occurred at 1:45 p.m. and is under investigation. The specific type of vehicle was not disclosed.

State Sen. Catherine Blakespear, who represents the Camp Pendleton area, offered her condolences.
