A Late Night Beauty, West on Ice, Brossoit Back, 2 for Pridham, Busy Blues, and Other Blackhawks Bullets ...Middle East

If you stayed up late enough to watch all the way to the end of an extended shootout that ended just a few minutes before midnight, you were treated to an outstanding hockey game. That was a Vegas team with Stanley Cup aspirations and the game was played at a playoff level. Spencer Knight and Carter Hart were both spectacular in net. Connor Bedard put on a show. It’s an absolute shame the Blackhawks didn’t walk away with two points, but that was a great game to watch.

With two points last night, Tyler Bertuzzi extended his personal streak to five straight multi-point road games. The only other Blackhawks to do that in the history of the franchise: Denis Savard and Bobby Hull. Pretty good company! Bedard attempted nine shots last night. His goal in regulation was ridiculous. His shootout goal was filthy. He was the highlight reel among the skaters in the game last night. The goalies stole the show, but Bedard was the best player in the game. Frank Nazar had a nice night. He attempted seven shots (three on net) and won half of his 12 faceoffs. As I mentioned in my postgame notes, Nazar has an assist in seven of his last nine games. He had a few great looks at the net tonight and couldn’t get the safety off in time. At some point, he’s going to find the back of the net and I think there’s going to be a run from Nazar. I didn’t mention Ryan Greene last night but he had a really strong game as well. He won the faceoff against Jack Eichel to begin overtime; Greene won 11 of 14 draws and blocked two shots in 20:57. His assist on Bedard’s goal in the third period extended his point streak to three games. In the only game on the slate in the OHL last night, Blackhawks prospect Jack Pridham scored twice for the Kitchener Rangers. His second goal came on the power play in a 3-2 loss to Erie.

— Fargo Force (@FargoForce) December 2, 2025 Dana Grey shared a nice clip of Laurent Brossoit working between the pipes with the IceHogs on Tuesday morning. The Blackhawks finally activated Brossoit earlier yesterday.

— Dana Grey (@DanaGrey0) December 2, 2025 The Rockford IceHogs announced defenseman Cavan Fitzgerald will miss to three to four weeks with a lower body injury. It sounds like things are going incredible… well… getting ready for ice hockey at the 2026 Winter Olympics.

— B/R Open Ice (@BR_OpenIce) December 2, 2025 Tuesday was a busy (putting it nicely?) day in St. Louis. The Blues announced winger Nathan Walker was placed on injured reserve (upper-body). Walker will be re-evaluated in eight weeks. Staying in St. Louis, Jordan Binnington got pulled quickly on Monday night and appeared to share a few thoughts with his head coach, Jim Montgomery, on his way to the bench. Here he is talking about it the next day. Doesn’t give off “happy camper” vibes, eh?

— Jeremy Rutherford (@jprutherford) December 2, 2025 The St. Louis Blues also made a minor trade on Tuesday. The Blues acquired forward Akil Thomas from the Los Angeles Kings for forward Nikita Alexandrov. After the trade with St. Louis, the Kings announced they signed Kings signed forward Samuel Helenius to a two-year contract. Helenius, 23, was a second-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft. Tough injury news for Philadelphia: forward Tyson Foerster will be out 2-3 months with an upper-body injury.
