PALMYRA, N.Y. — A decades-old case has resurfaced as convicted killer Chad Campbell has been granted parole, officials said. He could be released as early as March 12.
In the summer of 1990, Campbell, who was 14 at the time, raped and fatally stabbed his 15-year-old classmate Cindy Lewis. He also killed 17-month-old Curtis Rizzo, whom Lewis was babysitting.
Campbell was convicted of two counts of murder and began serving his sentence of 18 years to life.
The state corrections department confirmed Campbell’s parole status.
