The performances, though, might line up: Semien is 35, is still a very good defender at second base, and is around a league-average bat. Nimmo is 32, is a decent corner outfielder at this point, and is an above-average bat.
I guess I could see why each might want to make this swap, though I’m surprised the Rangers are adding even more guaranteed money to their books (unless there’s a financial element to the deal, or other players involved).
