A report of possible gunfire near Mount Miguel High School prompted a brief lockdown of the campus Thursday while officials investigated, finding no evidence of a shooting.
Someone reported hearing what sounded like a firearm discharging in the general area of the school in the 8000 block of Blossom Lane in the Spring Valley area shortly before 10:30 a.m. Thursday.
Blossom Lane“Deputies conducted a walkthrough and clearing of all buildings and areas of the school campus but found no weapon or evidence of a firearm being discharged,” a release from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office said. “The school lockdown was lifted a short time later.
“No one was hurt,” the release added.
School administrators directed students and staffers to remain secured in their classrooms and offices while deputies investigated, the department said.
