‘Stinks’ – Dave Portnoy and Micah Parsons lead Tush Push uproar as Eagles’ controversial play reaches farcical level ...Middle East

The only things NFL fans hate more than watching the Philadelphia Eagles run the Tush Push, is watching them run it four times in a row.

Quite inexplicably, that’s what happened in primetime Thursday night, even though the play is under new scrutiny.

Midway through the second quarter against the New York Giants, on third and one from the three yard line, Philly pushed Jalen Hurts‘ tush.

The Eagles didn’t get the yards they needed on that play, so they dialled it up again.

On fourth and inches, Hurts was shoved to the one yard line, and Philadelphia found themselves on first and goal.

When the Eagles are in that position, everyone knows what’s coming next.

They dialled up the ‘Brotherly Shove’ again, but didn’t get across the goal line.

Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo then called for it one more time.

Finally, two minutes after Tush Push No.1, Hurts and the Eagles stumbled into the end zone for six points on their fourth attempt.

Philly loves it, but everyone else hates it. And after four successive Tush Push plays, many Thursday Night Football viewers took to social media to share fury over what they had just witnessed.

Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons was one who made his feelings very clear.

“This is not football!” the star defensive end, who was traded to Lambeau Field in August, said.

He has, perhaps, been speaking to those in the Green Bay organization who tried so hard over the summer to get the play banned.

But Parsons wasn’t the only person enraged by watching Philly run the Tush Push four times in a row.

“This is why Tush Push needs to be banned,” Barstool founder Dave Portnoy wrote, sharing footage of the play.

“Football is supposed to be entertainment. This ruins the game.

“No different than changing pass interference rules for more scoring. Nobody wants to watch this s***.”

Social media explodes as Eagles over use Tush Push

Plenty of NFL fans agreed with Parsons and Portnoy, taking to social media to share their thoughts.

Many fans on social media turned against the Tush Push on ThursdayGetty

“Damn, I’ve been flipped officially. The Tush Push f***in’ stinks,” one wrote on X.

“If the Eagles want the Tush Push to remain, running it four consecutive times on primetime won’t help. That’s not an opinion, just the facts. The league office likely didn’t enjoy watching it,” another said.

“Take that s*** back to Australia,” a third wrote, likening the push to a rugby scrum.

“Honestly, that garbage Tush Push is going to ruin a good thing. A mockery of the game,” a fourth concluded.

With four straight plays, the Eagles reignited a debate over the Tush Push that had mostly died down since summer.

There wasn’t enough support for Green Bay’s proposal to ban it during annual spring meetings four months ago, but if the Eagles continue running it as they did on Thursday, the outcome might be different next year.

For now, though, fans can take solace in the fact that Philly were blown out by the New York Giants and their rookies, despite stumbling across the goal line after back-to-back-to-back-to-back Tush Push plays.
