The Chicago Bulls are the hottest team in the NBA. That’s a combination of words I never thought I’d put together after their recent seven-game losing streak — which came right on the heels of a five-game skid. Yet here we are.
The Bulls are tied for the longest win streak in the league, and yes, I’m counting it that way because the Spurs did lose to the New York Knicks in the NBA Cup final, whether that officially hits the record books or not.
Tonight, Chicago faces their division rivals, the Milwaukee Bucks, in what might be their toughest challenge yet. Not only are the Bulls playing the second night of a back-to-back, but a certain two-time MVP might be making his return tonight.
According to Eric Nehm of The Athletic, Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to suit up against the Bulls tonight. The Greek Freak has been sidelined with a calf injury he suffered against the Detroit Pistons in early December. The initial projected timeline for his return made it sound like he wouldn’t be back until the start of the new calendar year. But, unfortunately, for the Bulls, he’s back sooner than expected.

5-Game Win Streak! Bulls 109, Sixers 102 – December 26, 2025What To Watch For
The Chicago Bulls’ bench has been outworking the starters lately. In last night’s win over Philadelphia, the five reserves outscored the starting unit 59–50. Every one of them finished with a positive plus/minus, and they kept Chicago afloat while Coby, Giddey, Vucevic, and Buzelis struggled to generate offense. Tonight, against a Milwaukee team that leans heavily on its top stars, Chicago’s bench may once again have to shoulder the load to keep Chicago’s climb alive.ANOTHER TEAM DUB.Tre: 15pts, 6rebZach: 15pts, 5rebCoby: 13pts, 7reb, 6astGiddey: 12pts, 6reb, 11astStix: 12pts, 8reb, +24Matas: 10pts, 8rebKev: 9ptsAyo: 8pts, 4ast, +13Isaac: 8pts, 2ast pic.twitter.com/7SnSbhrXtV
— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) December 27, 2025 Over the last two games, Josh Giddey and Coby White have combined for 20 turnovers. They haven’t sunk the Bulls yet, but they’ve certainly made things a lot tighter than they needed to be. The Bucks beat the Bulls 126–110 in their last meeting back in early November. Two things stand out from that game: both teams were missing key players, and that loss sparked Chicago’s first five-game losing streak of the season — a slide they’ll be determined not to repeat tonight. Giannis Antetokounmpo returns tonight hoping to help Milwaukee steady its season. But his presence alone doesn’t suddenly make the Bucks contenders, or even a lock for the playoffs. With Giannis, they’re just 9–8; without him, they’re 3–11. The Bucks sit in the middle, or near the bottom, of most meaningful league metrics, and in last night’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, turnovers and a lack of bench scoring doomed them. Those just happen to be areas where the Bulls have been thriving. Kevin Porter Jr. will be facing Chicago for the first time this season, and he’s been on fire in his expanded role with the Giannis-less Bucks. In December, he’s averaged 22 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 2.6 steals while shooting 42% from deep. He’ll be high on the scouting report tonight, with or without Giannis on the floor.Injury Report
