2025 Honorees: Annabelle Hayes & Eaton Heng

For the 2nd year in a row, there were no individual National Age Group Records set in the 10 & Under age group for girls. This makes determining the Swammy a little bit more difficult, but a few swimmers set themselves apart by leading the nation in more events than anyone else. On the boys’ side Eaton Heng tied the boys’ 50 free NAG, but it hasn’t appeared on the USA Swimming page yet. He also has almost every top time in the nation, despite aging up early in the season.

10 & Under Girls

Annabelle Hayes, Irvine Novaquatics

Annabelle Hayes from Irvine Novaquatics recently turned 11, but she had an electric 2025 as a 10-year-old. At the conclusion of the 2024-25 SCY season and the 2025 LCM season, she held top-10 times in 18 events and the top time in the country in 11 events.

While she had a strong short course season, which finished with her leading the country in three events, the 100 free, 500 free, and 100 back, her long course season was where she made her mark on the all-time rankings.

The only stroke where she didn’t hold top-10 times was breaststroke, but in long course she was the top swimmer in all four tracked distances of freestyle, both backstrokes, the 50 fly, and the 200 IM.

She set the 2nd fastest times in history in the 100 back, where her 1:09.72 was just four tenths off Miriam Sheehan‘s 2015 NAG Record time of 1:09.36, and in the 200 IM, where she swam 2:29.87 to miss Kayla Han‘s 2019 record of 2:28.70.

She also moved up to 14th in the 50 free (28.90), 4th in the 200 free (2:15.42), 6th in the 400 free (4:42.04), 20th in the 50 back (33.31), and 9th in the 50 fly (30.82).

Hayes was also a member of two NAG record relays in 2025. Irvine Novaquatics broke the 10 & Under SCY and LCM records in the 200 medley relay, and Hayes was the backstroker on both relays. We don’t have splits for the short course relay, but she led off in 34.25 on the long course relay.

10 & Under Boys

Xtreme Swim Club, Eaton Heng

Xtreme Swim Club’s Eaton Heng is 11 now, but he holds the most top times in the country for 10 & Under boys’ currently with nine total from just two meets at the beginning of the season.

Heng has no times in the USA Swimming database from before this season which means six months ago, he had never swum a sanctioned race. He is now tied for a National Age Group Record in the 50 free.

Between October 17th and today he turned 11, but for the two meets he swam as a 10 year old he took over the leaderboards, and made his mark on the overall rankings.

He sits currently 1st in the 50 free (24.42), 100 free (53.57), 500 free (5:09.61), 50 back (27.67), 100 back (1:00.91), 100 breast (1:09.95), 100 fly (1:01.04), 100 IM (1:01.61), and 200 IM (2:10.79).

His 50 free time ties him with Winn Aung‘s 2013 NAG record of 24.42. The time has not been updated on the USA Swimming NAG Record page yet.

He also holds top-five all-time swims in the 100 free, 500 free, 50 back, 100 IM, and 200 IM.
