CHICAGO BEARS INJURY REPORT — The first Chicago Bears injury report ahead of the team’s Week 6 game against the Washington Commanders on Monday Night Football has officially dropped. And while the team did not hold an official practice on Thursday, there is a list of players whose names were on the estimated participation report.

Chicago Bears Injury Report — October 9, 2025

PLAYERS WITH DNPs NEXT TO THEIR NAMES: Safety Jaquan Brisker (quad), defensive lineman Grady Jarrett (knee), running back Kyle Monangai (thigh), offensive lineman Darnell Wright (elbow)

I’m glad this is an “estimated” Bears injury report. Otherwise, I might be freaking out about some of the names of players with DNP next to their respective names.

On the one hand, I am doing my best not to be too worried about defensive tackle Grady Jarrett’s knee injury keeping him out of practice. But on the other hand, Jarrett missed the Bears’ Week 4 win against the Las Vegas Raiders due to a knee injury. Plus, Jarrett had his 2023 season shortened due to an ACL injury that limited him to just eight games. For what it’s worth, Jarrett played a full 2024 season. However, the 32-year-old defensive tackle’s early returns in 2025 have me concerned about one of Chicago’s big splash additions from earlier in the offseason.

When it comes to Jarrett and the others who didn’t practice, I’ll hold out hope that better news is on the horizon when the next Bears injury report update comes out on Friday.

PLAYERS WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN LIMITED HAD THE BEARS PRACTICED: Cornerback Kyler Gordon (hamstring), offensive lineman Jonah Jackson (rib), tight end Colston Loveland (hip)

A trio of players is listed as limited on the estimated Bears injury report from Thursday. That group is headlined by a pair of starters (nickel cornerback Kyler Gordon and right guard Jonah Jackson) and includes rookie tight end Colston Loveland. Gordon told reporters earlier in the week that he will play in Monday’s game against the Commanders. As for Loveland, there should be some optimism regarding his possible return in Week 6. The Jackson injury is a new one, but a limited participation tag makes me think he could be in a position to give it a go on MNF. We’ll monitor that particular player’s injury status closely over the next few days.

PLAYERS WITH FULL PARTICIPATION DESIGNATIONS ON THURSDAY’S BEARS INJURY REPORT: Defensive lineman Austin Booker (knee), linebacker T.J. Edwards (hamstring), running back Travis Homer (calf), kicker Cairo Santos (right thigh)

We’re saving the best for last in this installment of the Bears injury report update.

Four players were listed as full participants on Thursday, including a pair of players (defensive end Austin Booker and running back Travis Homer) who are designated to return from injured reserve. Booker’s return could bring a boost to a Bears defensive line that hasn’t generated much pass rush or provided much resistance in run defense. As for Homer, his potential return to the team figures to help the special teams unit. And with rookie running back Kyle Monangai popping up on the injury report, perhaps he could be someone Chicago uses in the ground game. When it comes to the Bears’ backfield, I’m all for throwing stuff at a wall and seeing what sticks.

Seeing kicker Cairo Santos get a full participation designation allowed me to let out a sigh of relief. The same can be said about linebacker T.J. Edwards, who is tracking to play for the first time since his 2025 debut in Week 2.
