The fallout from Napheesa Collier’s scathing attack on the WNBA has continued.
As popular sports media personality and Barstool founder Dave Portnoy has reacted to Collier’s attack on WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert by backing the Minnesota Lynx star.

Collier, who suffered an injury in Game 3 of the Lynx’s eventual semi-final loss to the Phoenix Mercury, gave a four-minute-long statement to reporters on Tuesday, where she slammed Engelbert and WNBA officials.
“Our leadership’s answer to being held accountable is to suppress everyone’s voices by handing out fines,” Collier said.
“We have the best players in the world. We have the best fans in the world, but right now we have the worst leadership in the world.”

Portnoy reacted to Collier’s remarks on his Wake Up Barstool and issued his own brutal attack.
“As far as this story, I agree with everything she said,” Portnoy began.
“This is the dumbest league run by absolute morons. Napheesa Collier, I love. I am a fan of her.”
However, Portnoy also took aim at other WNBA players, claiming these same athletes who are backing Collier are the same people who have “tried to run Caitlin [Clark] out the league.”
WNBA stars like Angel Reese, Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull have thrown their support behind Collier.
“I’ve seen a lot of the players be like amen and that she is speaking the truth but these are the same players who have tried to run Caitlin and her fans out of the league,” he added.
“These players have never stuck up for Caitlin, in fact, players say ‘Why does she get all the attention?'”
“Napheesa is right but these players don’t equate embracing the news fans with the bigger contract deals.

“The referees stink, everything about the league, the way they run it and it’s marketing, stinks,” he blasted.
Engelbert responded to Collier’s remarks almost immediately after her statement went viral on social media.

The three-on-three offseason league, which is valued at $340 million, has been viewed as a rival to the WNBA.
