Allison Schiavo, a strong freestyler and versatile threat in the water, has announced her verbal commitment to swim for West Chester University beginning in the fall of 2026.

A senior at Clearview Regional High School in New Jersey, Schiavo has been a member of her school’s swimming and diving team since her sophomore year. She also currently trains year-round with the Jersey Wahoos, where she primarily specializes in free, breast and IM.
Schiavo posted several top performances at the 2025 NJISAA Meet of Champions in March, clocking two new personal best times. She placed 8th in the 100 free (52.23) and 12th in the 50 free (24.49), setting lifetime best times in both events.
Schiavo kicked off the 2025-2026 SCY season with a strong showing at the JW Thanksgiving ABBC Meet in November. She placed 7th in the 400 IM in 4:36.21 and 10th in the 500 free in 5:09.95, logging new personal best times in both races. She also finished 10th in the 100 free (53.90) and 200 IM (2:10.14), 14th in the 50 free (25.71) and 15th in the 100 breast (1:08.97).
At the 2025 AM PITT 63rd Annual Christmas Meet a few weeks ago, Schiavo turned in a series of top swims. She placed 2nd in the 200 IM (2:07.62 – PB), 3rd in the 200 free (1:54.79 – PB), 5th in the 100 free (53.19 – SB), 6th in the 50 free (24.77 – SB), 7th in the 500 free (5:08.46 – PB) and 8th in the 100 breast (1:09.09). She also helped her team to a 2nd-place finish in the 400 free relay and a 3rd-place finish in the 400 medley relay.

50 free – 24.49 100 free – 52.23 200 free – 1:54.79 500 free – 5:08.46 200 IM – 2:07.62 400 IM – 4:36.21A Division II program, West Chester competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, with the women’s team having won their 18th-straight PSAC Championship title last season. The Golden Rams went on to send three athletes to compete at the NCAA Division II Championships, where the team finished 26th overall.
Based on the results from the 2025 PSAC Championships, Schiavo would have landed in the ‘A’ final in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 500 free and the ‘B’ final in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free, putting her in a position to be a key contributor right from the start.Schiavo should also be an asset for some of West Chester’s relays, especially the 800 free relay, which the Golden Rams won at the 2025 PSAC Championships but will not see any of the four members return next season. On the team itself, she will help fill some gaps as the Golden Rams are set to lose their top two competitors in the 200 IM and their top competitor in the 400 IM at the end of this season.
Schiavo will not be the first member of her family to go to West Chester, as her mom first attended the school before graduating from Drexel University.
Schiavo is currently set to be joined by Julie Chong, Kara Walters, Amelia Wygant and Addyson Despeaux, who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
