Eddie Vedder's annual Ohana Music Festival has become the place where the Pearl Jam frontman lives out his rock and roll fantasies. In the past, he has covered songs by goth icons like The Cure and pop superstars like Taylor Swift. After performing a few of his solo songs, Vedder dipped into the covers, including a rendition of The Who's "I'm One" and "Watch Outside" by 90s garage rockers, The Mono Men. Towards the end of the set, Eddie surprised the crowd by performing Led Zeppelin's "The Song Remains the Same" for the first time.
At his lowest point, Eddie said he heard "this piece of music, and I'll never forget where I was, and how loud it was, and for some reason, this piece of music, it was like a drug. It lifted me up! It was a liftoff, and I realized, 'you know, [explicative] that guy. Someday, someday, he will mean nothing to you. You will figure this [explicative] out.'"
"This concert was THE BEST! Because Eddie's vision, heart, and voice were in it!" wrote another, while one fan said that Eddie playing both "The Song Remains the Same" and Pearl Jam's "Rearviewmirror" was absolutely "powerful stuff."

The song's title was also used for a 1976 concert rock film and corresponding live album. The film earned mixed reviews upon its release, including from guitarist Jimmy Page, who said it "is not a great film, but there's no point in making excuses," per Far Out.
