SAN JOSE – The San Jose Sharks did not have second-year center Macklin Celebrini on the ice Friday as they finished their second day of training camp.
It was not immediately clear as to why Celebrini was not on the ice with his assigned group on Friday. However, after he skated on Thursday, the first day of camp, Celebrini reported to the team that he wasn’t feeling well. He was then sent home by the Sharks’ medical staff.
General manager Mike Grier said Thursday that Celebrini was not dealing with an injury.
“He just was kind of not feeling great when he came off the ice,” Grier said Thursday of Celebrini, “(so we) sent him home, get some rest, and we’ll evaluate him in the morning.”
Celebrini’s group was the third and final one of the day at Sharks Ice. Celebrini’s group, which includes Will Smith and Jeff Skinner, practiced first on Thursday and scrimmaged against another group led by Tyler Toffoli and Alexander Wennberg.
