Police questioned the driver after pulling over the advertisement van which carried the message “welcome to the UK, Donald”, according to a photographer who was in the vehicle.

Footage showed a police officer driving the van away after the advert displaying the notorious image was turned off on Windsor’s High Street about three hours before Trump’s arrival on Wednesday.

“Me and another journalist jumped out. The police wanted the picture off. And that was the thing that surprised me the most. I’ve seen a few of these things, it’s just a photo on the side of someone’s van.

“That was their first priority. They really seemed quite flustered, to get the picture off. And as soon as they got the picture off they jumped in the van and drove it away up the road.”

A van displaying a photo of the US President Donald Trump alongside Jeffrey Epstein was stopped by police on approach to Windsor Castle on Wednesday, where the U.S. President is set to be hosted by King Charles during his state visit to Britain. This comes as the President arrives in Windsor for a historic second state visit to the UK. In a separate incident, four people were arrested on Tuesday (September 16) following a projection of images of Trump alongside Epstein onto the royal Windsor Castle.

“There was no reasoning. There was no asking who you’re from, who you’re doing this with, there was just, ‘how’d you turn it off, get the van out’.”

No arrests were made and no vehicles were seized, they added.

She added that after police spoke to the driver for about half an hour he was told to leave and escorted out of Windsor after the van was returned to him.

“I don’t know what we could have done to breach that rule. It does seem a little heavy-handed and suspicious to me.”

“The driver was at risk of breaching the Road Traffic Regulations Act and, after a brief conversation with officers, the motorist left the area.

Earlier this week, Everyone Hates Elon, formed in opposition to Elon Musk’s involvement in UK politics, unfurled what they said was the world’s largest picture of Epstein and Trump on Windsor Castle’s grounds.

The campaigners also planted cups and plates showing Trump alongside convicted paedophile Epstein in a Windsor Castle souvenir shop over the weekend.

She said: “We’re really focusing on Trump’s relationship with Epstein and so people can watch our social media to see how we do that.

The group say they have been assisted by comedian Rosie O’Donnell, a nemesis of Trump, who fled the US for Ireland after his election win.

“The thing we are angry about is Donald Trump is trying to use the monarchy and this British pomp and ceremony to polish his image and have a lovely holiday,” she said.

Everyone Hates Elon say they have not received legal threats for their campaign, which previously targeted Musk’s Tesla with a guerrilla advertisement campaign throughout London.

He will then visit the Prime Minister’s Chequers home on Thursday.

“It’s about standing up to this focus on billionaires rather than ordinary people, and then, secondly, siding with women who’ve been abused,” the spokesperson added.

“The message is he’s not welcome here, and men like him that suck up to billionaires and abuse women are not welcome in the UK.”
