Police seized a protest group’s van emblazoned with an image of Donald Trump and paedophile Jeffrey Epstein as it drove near Windsor Castle on the first full day of the President’s state visit.
Police questioned the driver after pulling over the advertisement van which carried the message “welcome to the UK, Donald”, according to a photographer who was in the vehicle.
Activists from campaign group Everyone Hates Elon have been trolling Trump in the run-up to his historic visit, which saw the King, Queen and Prince and Princess of Wales greet him at Windsor on Wednesday.
Footage showed a police officer driving the van away after the advert displaying the notorious image was turned off on Windsor’s High Street about three hours before Trump’s arrival on Wednesday.
A photographer who was in the van told The i Paper: “The police straight away saw the van, stood in the middle of road, pulled it over and spoke to the driver.
“Me and another journalist jumped out. The police wanted the picture off. And that was the thing that surprised me the most. I’ve seen a few of these things, it’s just a photo on the side of someone’s van.
“That was their first priority. They really seemed quite flustered, to get the picture off. And as soon as they got the picture off they jumped in the van and drove it away up the road.”
@theipaperA van displaying a photo of the US President Donald Trump alongside Jeffrey Epstein was stopped by police on approach to Windsor Castle on Wednesday, where the U.S. President is set to be hosted by King Charles during his state visit to Britain. This comes as the President arrives in Windsor for a historic second state visit to the UK. In a separate incident, four people were arrested on Tuesday (September 16) following a projection of images of Trump alongside Epstein onto the royal Windsor Castle.

“There was no reasoning. There was no asking who you’re from, who you’re doing this with, there was just, ‘how’d you turn it off, get the van out’.”
Thames Valley Police said the driver was spoken to as he was “at risk of breaching the Road Traffic Regulations Act”.
No arrests were made and no vehicles were seized, they added.
A spokesperson for Everyone Hates Elon said police seemed “heavy handed”, adding they hadn’t been stopped during similar protests, including using a van with an image of a bald Vice President JD Vance on his recent Cotswold visit.
She added that after police spoke to the driver for about half an hour he was told to leave and escorted out of Windsor after the van was returned to him.
The campaigner, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “It seems a little bit strange. We have never been stopped using that act previously using an ad van.
“I don’t know what we could have done to breach that rule. It does seem a little heavy-handed and suspicious to me.”

“The driver was at risk of breaching the Road Traffic Regulations Act and, after a brief conversation with officers, the motorist left the area.
“No arrests were made and no vehicles were seized. We have been clear with the public that an enhanced police presence would be in place due to the state visit.”
Earlier this week, Everyone Hates Elon, formed in opposition to Elon Musk’s involvement in UK politics, unfurled what they said was the world’s largest picture of Epstein and Trump on Windsor Castle’s grounds.
The 4,300 square-foot image of the men at Trump’s Florida estate Mar-a-Lago was funded in part from £32,000 in donations raised by the public.
The campaigners also planted cups and plates showing Trump alongside convicted paedophile Epstein in a Windsor Castle souvenir shop over the weekend.
A spokesperson for the group said they planned to place the image of Trump and Epstein in as many places as possible.
She said: “We’re really focusing on Trump’s relationship with Epstein and so people can watch our social media to see how we do that.

The group say they have been assisted by comedian Rosie O’Donnell, a nemesis of Trump, who fled the US for Ireland after his election win.
O’Donnell collaborated on and shared a recent social media post promoting the group’s campaign, which the spokesperson said is picking up interest in the US.
“The thing we are angry about is Donald Trump is trying to use the monarchy and this British pomp and ceremony to polish his image and have a lovely holiday,” she said.
“And so we want to make sure that he can’t forget what he’s done and the people that he’s hurt.”

After meeting the Royal Family, Trump took in a flypast by the Red Arrows and RAF and US F-35 military jets over the east lawn at Windsor Castle.
He will then visit the Prime Minister’s Chequers home on Thursday.
While the protest group are not sure if Trump is aware of their campaign, they said they wanted to send out a message that he was “not welcome” in the UK.
“It’s about standing up to this focus on billionaires rather than ordinary people, and then, secondly, siding with women who’ve been abused,” the spokesperson added.
“The one thing Trump doesn’t want to talk about is Jeffrey Epstein on this trip. So we would hope that his reaction is ‘this is not going to go away’.
“The message is he’s not welcome here, and men like him that suck up to billionaires and abuse women are not welcome in the UK.”
