Pageland fourth-grade teacher dies at 33 ...Middle East

PAGELAND, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Pageland Elementary School community is mourning the loss of one of its teachers. Madisson Finley died Saturday at 33. 

Finley was a native of Lancaster County and had been a fourth-grade teacher at Pageland Elementary for 10 years, her obituary states.

Her cause of death is unknown at this time. 

She won a softball state championship in 2009 while attending Buford High School. A lifelong sports enthusiast, she also coached t-ball for Lancaster County Parks and Rec. 

Finley is survived by her parents, Todd and Renee Finley; brother, Blake Finley (Taylor); and her long-term companion, Antwan Barnes. 

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Darrell Croft.   

The family has requested that memorials be made to the Lancaster County Animal Shelter.
