(KRON) — A small brush fire is actively burning near Cañada College at 4200 Farm Hill Boulevard in San Mateo County.
The fire ignited shortly after 5 p.m. According to Cal Fire, forward progress on the fire was stopped on the northbound side of Interstate 280, near the college. Firefighters continue to battle the fire on the southbound side of I–280.
“Air attack is dropping retardant," Cal Fire’s San Mateo-Santa Cruz Unit stated on social media.

At least 15 fire engines, two water tenders, multiple fixed-wing aircraft and one helicopter are battling the fire. A firefighting hand crew and dozer have also been to the fire.
