Included in the recall are the brand's large brown cage-free Sunshine Yolk eggs distributed from June 16, 2025, through July 9, 2025, in California and Nevada. The eggs were packed in individual retail cartons with the brand names Nagatoshi Produce, Misuho, and Nijiya Markets. Additionally, the impacted eggs can be identified by the code CA 7695 on the carton and sell-by dates of July 1, 2025, through Sept. 18, 2025.
So far, illnesses related to the ongoing Salmonella outbreak have been reported in 13 states, including Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Minnesota, North Carolina, Nebraska, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington. It’s also worth noting that California has the highest concentration of cases so far. Due to the severity of the outbreak, the CDC has announced that they are stepping in to investigate the situation and hopefully prevent it from spreading further.
