ANDY REID has broken his silence over Kansas City Chiefs star Rashee Rice’s expected suspension by the NFL.
The superstar wide receiver is set for a lengthy ban after being sentenced to jail last week over his role in a multi-car crash.

Rice was filmed fleeing the scene of the terrifying accident on a highway in Dallas, Texas, on 30 March, 2024.
Now, Chiefs head coach Reid has admitted it is a mystery whether he will start the 2025 NFL season with or without one of his star men.
The wideout – who was also given five-years probation as part of the case – has the freedom to decide when he serves his 30-day jail time.
He is also coming back from an ACL tear, which forced him to miss a large chunk of the last campaign, and their eventual Super Bowl loss.
Reid, whose team return to training camp on Monday, is preparing for all eventualities heading into another year in the AFC West.
“He’ll go in and take all the reps that he’ll normally take,” said Reid.
“We always rotate that position.
“Depending on what happens here with the future, whoever needs to play will step in and know what they are doing and be in good shape to do it.”
Rice was accidentally injured by his own quarterback Patrick Mahomes in week 4 of the 2024 season.
The two collided during a game against the Los Angeles Chargers, tearing his ACL, and ruling him out for the year.
“We’ll keep an eye on that,” added Reid on Rice’s knee injury.
“As far as pulling back because of suspensions or whatever, you know, we’re going forward.
“And then we’ll monitor him as far as it goes.”

The NFL are understood to still be reviewing the Rice case, but any verdict is expected imminently.
He pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony charges of collision involving serious bodily injury and racing on a highway causing bodily injury.
As part of his plea agreement he was sentenced to five years of deferred probation and 30 days in jail time.
Rice was also ordered by the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office to pay victims’ medical expenses, totally $115,000.
The Chiefs are looking to get back to the Super Bowl this season after the disappointment of last year.
They had hoped to complete a historic three-peat of wins in the Greatest Show on Turf this February.
It would have been a league first, even topping the dynasty of Tom Brady’s New England Patriots couldn’t achieve.
However, they were destroyed 40-22 by the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans, Louisiana, in a heavily one-sided game.
