POLICE REPORTS
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.
VEHICLE BURGLARY: Caller in the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard reported at 6:42 a.m. July 7 that a vehicle had been burglarized. An officer took a report.
VANDALISM: Caller in the 900 block of River Street reported at 7:06 a.m. July 7 that someone attempted to break into a shed overnight. An officer took a report.
SHOPLIFTER: Caller at the corner of Airport Park Boulevard and Talmage Road reported at 8:08 p.m. July 7 that a man had stolen items. An officer responded and cited and released a 37-year-old Colorado man for theft.
DEAD CAT: Caller at the corner of Elm Street and Irvington Drive reported at 8:34 a.m. July 7 that a dead cat was in the roadway. Streets employees were notified.
SHOPLIFTERS: Caller at CVS on South Orchard Avenue reported at 11:40 a.m. July 7 that “three females” had stolen items. An officer took a report.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: An officer responded to the 1100 block of Mulberry Street at 2:38 a.m. July 8 for a report of domestic violence and arrested three people: Jamie D. Gregg, 21, of Ukiah, for assault with a deadly weapon, receiving stolen property, threatening a crime with intent to terrorize and domestic violence; a 44-year-old Ukiah woman for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and a 20-year-old Ukiah man for resisting arrest. All suspects were booked into Mendocino County Jail.
MAN TRYING TO CLIMB FENCE: Caller in the 600 block of Mason Street reported at 2 p.m. July 8 that a man in his underwear was trying to climb a fence. An officer checked the area and reported the man was gone. At 3:14 p.m., a caller reported that a man near the railroad tracks at Ford Street was “wearing only underwear.” An officer checked the area and reported the man was gone.
VANDALISM: Caller in the 1200 block of Airport Park Boulevard reported at 3:04 p.m. July 8 that someone had vandalized a bus. An officer responded and arrested Anthony S. Kochie Jr., 38, of Ukiah, who was booked into county jail on suspicion of resisting, trying to remove a firearm from an officer, felony vandalism, possession of a controlled substance and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
BURGLARY: Caller at 1200 Hastings Frontage road reported at 10:10 a.m. July 9 that a trailer had been burglarized. An officer took a report.
DOG BITE: Caller at the Ukiah Library on North Main Street reported a dog bite at 11:33 a.m. July 9. An officer took a report.
SHOTS FIRED: Caller in the 300 block of South State Street reported at 2 p.m. July 9 hearing possible shots fired. An officer responded and determined the incident was not as reported.
Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.
