U.S. 6 will be closed through Clear Creek Canyon for overnight tunnel inspections starting Wednesday, state officials said.

The highway will be closed in both directions between Colorado 119 and Interstate from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday and from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

More overnight closures are scheduled for U.S. 6 between Colorado 58 in Golden and Colorado 119 on from July 21-23.

Drivers can detour on Interstate 70.
