However, two players will not be forming part of the Chiefs’ squad in the new season.
Guard Tremayne Anchrum Jr and tight end Kevin Foelsch have both been shown the door following a three-day minicamp.
Both players had only recently linked up with the Chiefs and were eager to nail down a spot in the side.
Anchrum Jr, 26, won the 2022 Super Bowl with the LA Rams but has since struggled to secure a contract at a new franchise.
Meanwhile, Foelsch, 24, was in the Eagles’ practice squad as they won NFL’s top prize but failed to make a single appearance.
Both players are now on the hunt for new teams.
And their exits mean the Chiefs can now add undrafted rookie lineman Joey Lombard and ex-UFL tight end Geor’Quarius Spivey to their roster.
Mahomes is certainly excited at the prospect of another Super Bowl win.
He said: “That’s the goal. You want to be the top offense in the league when you step in the building every day.
“But at the end of the day, you want to win the Super Bowl.
“Our goal is to do whatever we can to win the football game, and hopefully for us, that’s being the top offense to go with the defense we have.”
