For the event, Fierstein wore a striking blue suit, a bright plaid bowtie, and matching shoes. He accessorized the look with his signature glasses and a beaded clutch, cheekily adorned with the word "snacks." He also painted his nails in a color that complimented his suit.

Fierstein, who has been in films like Mrs. Doubtfire and Independence Day, is a star on both stage and screen. The actor was honored with the 2025 Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement during the June 8 event.

"It's like you lived your life good. Well thank you. I tried. I did. I tried to live life well," said Fierstein with a laugh.

"I wrote three speeches. The first one, of course, was all political. And I knew I would never give that because I wasn't going to give this moment away to hate," said Fierstein during the interview. "And to anger. And the second one was sort of silly. And I said, 'This deserves a little bit more.' And I want this to be about community and how I was welcomed in. And that's what it was about."

"There's a line in the speech that I hope people heard, which is no one does theater alone," said the actor.

"One more thing to dust. It's a lovely thing. I have seven of these things now. Got seven of these to dust," quipped the Mulan star.
