The U.S. Coast Guard was searching for survivors Sunday after a Cessna 414 with six people on board crashed about three miles west of Point Loma.
The crash was reported at 12:50 p.m. Sunday, said Petty Officer Ryan Graves of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Graves said crews had located a debris field. He added that the Coast Guard was using a cutter boat, two small watercraft and a Jayhawk helicopter in its search.
