Karnataka CM announces compensation of INR 10 lakh

“A major tragedy occurred during the victory celebrations. It happened near the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The government has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the deceased. The government will provide free treatment to the injured," the Karnataka government's statement read.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal expressed his concern about the tragic incident, but also stated that officials and players were unaware of the incident outside the stadium.

"We had no knowledge of a victory parade—I don't know who organised it, how it was planned and how it went through," Arun Dhumal stated.
