The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 edition has ended. And now the entire focus of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) would be T20 World Cup 2026. The Indian cricket team will enter the tournament as a firm favourite. Not just because the Men in Blue are the regaining champions but also because of the talented players available for selection.

And after the IPL 2025, the selectors will have a plethora of options to select from. Team India is confirmed to play 13 T20I matches against Bangladesh, Australia, and South Africa in 2025. And due to ODIs and Tests, some players might be rested, while others who were previously part of the T20I team could be dropped.

Naturally, with the T20 World Cup 2026 coming up in 9 months, there will be some testing. So here are 9 players who could make their India T20I debut after blockbuster performances in IPL 2025.

Samson & Pant have got competition

No uncapped player has scored more runs than Prabhsimran Singh in IPL history. And his 2025 season was incredible. He was the 8th highest scorer and gave Punjab Kings (PBKS) great starts, more often than not. He didn’t keep wickets for PBKS but is a wicketkeeper by trade.

Considering how Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant performed in IPL 2025, it wouldn’t be a shock if Prabhsimran made his debut against Bangladesh. He did well for Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) but to replicate that in the IPL means he’s the real deal.

Rinku Singh’s replacement

Amid Rinku Singh’s struggles in the last few months, a finisher spot is up for grabs. And right now, three players can replace him. These are Naman Dhir, Aniket Verma, and Ashutosh Sharma. All showed their destructive abilities in IPL 2025. In Aniket’s case, he was even promoted up the order and played as a middle-order batter but he showed skills to finish the game as well.

Vipraj Nigam & Shashank Singh

Shashank Singh is seen as a finisher. But his IPL 2025 stats present him as a proper batter rather than a hitter. And although he didn’t bowl much, he can throw down some handy medium pace.

And Vipraj Nigam might have been the most impressive Indian all-rounder. His bowling a great but it was his power-hitting that shocked anyone. He can replace someone like Ravindra Jadeja in the team. Vipraj is a defensive bowler like Jadeja but an upgrade when it comes to hitting ability.

Spinners & powerplay bowler

Although Arshdeep Singh is there, you need another swing bowler. And no one swung the ball more than Vaibhav Arora in IPL 2025. He even showed the ability to bowl in the middle and death. He can be a valuable addition. Harpreet Brar didn’t play much, but he was one of PBKS’ best bowlers when given a chance. A defensive bowler, he can show his might on batting or bowling-friendly pitches.

And lastly, it’s confident Digvesh Rathi. The leggie from Delhi has no issue in taking the batters or BCCI rules on. He’ll hunt for your wicket and then celebrate. Despite being a defensive wrist spinner, like Sunil Narine, he can take wickets. And in T20 cricket, that’s what matters.
