A 23-year-old Escondido man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting another man with a baseball bat in Oceanside and leaving him in critical condition, authorities said.
Officers responded around 2:20 a.m. Saturday to Serena Avenue and Sky Haven Lane, where a 20-year-old man was discovered suffering from severe blunt- force trauma injuries, according to the Oceanside Police Department.
Sky Haven LanePolice said the victim was taken to a trauma center, where he remains in critical condition. His name was not immediately available.
The suspect, identified as Hunter Meyer, was arrested Monday without incident at his work place in Escondido.
According to police, Meyer had an unspecified previous relationship with the victim. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
