Shih said four suspects entered the business, with two demanding money from an employee. They then allegedly stole items and escaped in a vehicle before officers arrived.
An investigation revealed the vehicle used in the robbery was reported stolen in San Jose. The suspects were also linked to a string of other crimes that morning, including four vehicle thefts, reckless driving and a commercial burglary, Shih said.
Detectives identified three of the suspects. Arrest and search warrants were issued for them.
One boy was arrested on Feb. 25, and the second boy was arrested on Feb. 26. A third boy was already in custody at Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall for an unrelated crime.
Shih said a search of one suspect’s home yielded evidence related to the crimes, as well as a loaded handgun with an extended magazine. The firearm was privately manufactured and did not have a serial number.
The fourth suspect remained at large Thursday. He was last seen wearing a face mask, black clothing and a red or maroon shirt under his hooded sweatshirt, Shih said.
