OAKLAND — A 34-year-old Oakland man was fatally shot in East Oakland on Saturday evening, authorities said.

The Oakland Police Department received reports of a shooting near 84th Avenue and Plymouth Street at 6:50 p.m. The man, who was found outside, was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

No suspect information or motive was released. The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification to his family.

The shooting marks the 15th to be under investigation by the Oakland Police Department this year. By this time last year, the department was investigating 11 homicides.
