Articles published on Nov. 6, Nov. 14 and Jan. 31 incorrectly reported that former San Jose councilmember Omar Torres admitted during a police-monitored phone call that he had abused one other person in addition to the alleged victim cited in Santa Clara County Superior Court documents. Torres did not make any such admission on the call, according to the police report. Bay Area News Group reporters misinterpreted a comment about a different victim of sexual abuse, whom Torres is not accused of harming in any way.
