After a full life that entertained so many, legendary broadcaster Bob Uecker passed away at the age of 90.
Perhaps best known in the broader sports landscape for his role more or less playing himself in ‘Major League,’ Uecker was best known around here as a long-time voice of the Milwaukee Brewers. He was a broadcaster there for more than 50 years. The team announced his passing:

— Milwaukee Brewers (@Brewers) January 16, 2025Uecker was an entertainer who was beloved in all baseball circles, regardless of fandom, and his loss will be felt all around the league. There will be no shortage of eulogies, and many will be as deeply entertaining as he was.
In addition to his long-time work with the Brewers and his part in ‘Major League,’ Uecker played in the big leagues, had a range of other broadcasting and acting experience, was a wrestling announcer, and even wrote two books. He, of course, is also a Hall of Famer.
The best wishes go out to his family, friends, and all the many, many people he touched in the sport throughout his career.
