DENVER (KDVR) — Strong winds hit the Denver metro area on Thursday night, forcing the rescue of six paddleboarders at Chatfield State Park and causing a boat to capsize with two people aboard. Crews first responded to Chatfield around 7:06 p.m. and soon responded to at least three incidents. Two paddleboarders drifted into the trees on the south end of the park, according to South Metro Fire Rescue. Divers entered the water and brought two people to shore. Crews then rescued two people and two dogs from the reservoir, as the high winds prevented them from returning ashore. South Metro said no injuries were reported in that incident.
