Officers were called about a child in critical condition inside a vehicle in the 4100 block of Wilkinson Boulevard just before 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26. The 8-year-old was taken to the hospital, but later died. Investigators say the child was left in the vehicle during hot weather and had a medical emergency. The child's mother, 36-year-old Ashlee Stallings, has been arrested and charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Child Abuse by Willful Act Causing Serious Injury.
